Sungrow Presents its First Line of Microinverters at Intersolar 2024

The provider of photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, Sungrow , has just announced the launch of its first line of microinverters designed for residential applications and a smart home energy management solution based on Artificial Intelligence technology. These new products have been unveiled at Intersolar Europe 2024 in Munich (Germany), the largest fair in the solar industry worldwide.

Sungrow presents its first line of microinverters and a smart home manager at Intersolar 2024

Sungrow's new microinverters, designed for various residential applications, such as balconies and roofs, are part of a new product line that includes three models: S450S, S800S and S1600S, with powers of 450W, 800W and 1600W respectively. With a 2% increase in power generation compared to similar products, plug-and-play functionality and one-click network setup, Sungrow provides users with a more efficient and convenient experience.

Stable Performance in Low Light and High Temperature Conditions

Sungrow microinverters operate effectively in both low light and high temperature environments, resulting in an overall 2% increase in power generation. Specifically, they have an MPPT voltage range of 16-60 V, which ensures optimal performance even in weak sunlight. Additionally, Sungrow has implemented a heat dissipation solution that employs high-quality aluminum alloy substrates with a thermal conductivity rating of up to 130W/mK.

The corrugated micro-channel heat sink (MCHS) design improves heat dissipation in both directions, accelerating heat release. The manufacturer claims that the microinverters can operate at full power even in unventilated environments with temperatures up to 60°C, ensuring highly efficient power generation.

Plug-and-Play with 30% more efficiency

With their minimalist design, Sungrow microinverters offer a 30% increase in installation efficiency. Its plug-and-play design significantly reduces installation time, while the standard 2.8m AC busbar covers various installation scenarios with different module arrangements, providing flexibility and convenience to users. Users only have to configure the parameters of one microinverter, and the rest of the microinverters on the same network are automatically synchronized within 1 minute, allowing for quick connection to the cloud.

In addition, they incorporate an intelligent self-check function. Installation staff can use the iSolarCloud smart energy management platform to pre-check the status of module connections, inverter status, country information and environmental conditions, thus avoiding re-inspections and improving efficiency of the installation.

A new smart manager: iHomeManager

Intersolar Europe has also been the stage in which Sungrow has presented the new iHomeManager, a smart home energy management solution, based on Sungrow's cutting-edge AI technology, which personalizes optimal energy strategies for homes based on solar energy predictions and home load consumption analysis. Acting as the “smart brain” of homes, this solution significantly increases renewable energy income by 10%.

The iHomeManager incorporates Sungrow's AI-based strategy (AIBS), which uses advanced algorithms such as deep reinforcement learning to autonomously analyze household electricity consumption patterns and predict energy demand. By integrating real-time market electricity prices with 24-hour solar PV generation forecasts, it intelligently schedules ESS charging and discharging, reducing electricity costs and maximizing revenue.

During periods of abundant solar energy generation during the day, iHomeManager takes proactive measures to redirect excess renewable energy to the heat pumps, optimizing the utilization of renewable energy resources. During periods of low early morning electricity prices, the iHomeManager efficiently charges the energy storage system (ESS).

Instead, it discharges stored energy during peak demand and high price periods, taking advantage of price swings, while efficiently utilizing the remaining optimal state of charge (SOC) to host solar PV. Together, iHomeManager can increase household income from renewable energy by 10% or more.
