They will conduct research in these areas and organize capacity building programs jointly for channel partners, project developers, financial institutions, government departments, distribution utilities, PSUs etc.

“We are proud to state that Tata Power DDL is the first utility in India officially joining GIZ in the effort of installing 5 GW of distributed solar power by promoting standardized rooftop PV systems for the broader mass by the year 2022. That initiative by the Government of India – Ministry of New and Renewable Energy – will further spread nationally,” stated Joerg Gaebler, Principal Advisor, GIZ.
It is expected the MoU will pave the way to more technical cooperation between the two organizations and promote energy efficiency and renewable energy measures.
