In addition, Tenesol currently operates a 25 year performance guarantee. This states that modules will perform at 90% of nominal power for up to 10 years and at 80% of nominal power for up to 25 years.
As a mark of its commitment to quality, earlier this year Tenesol became the only PV manufacturer in France to achieve the triple certification of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
“We want our customers to know the product they are buying has been built in accordance with the highest level of quality and will perform effectively and reliably for decades to come,” says Benoit Rolland, General Manager of Tenesol. “Our experience, combined with the procedures and advanced equipment we use, has given us the confidence to increase our module guarantees two-fold. Quality is the absolute focus in every stage of our work and nowhere is this more important than in manufacturing.”
The increased module guarantee period will take effect from 1st July 2010 and cover all new PV modules in Tenesol’s product range, except ‘dual-glass’ modules.
Tenesol’s two production plants are located in Toulouse (France) and Cape Town (South Africa). The company works with some of the world’s largest suppliers of PV cells. Its modules are based on multicrystalline cells and have a power output range from 5 Wp to 250 Wp.
Tenesol has been certified to ISO 9001 since October 2003. It renewed in 2009 to achieve ISO 9001:2008 for continually improving quality management. Also in 2009, Tenesol’s factories were awarded ISO 14001 certification in recognition of the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Finally in 2009 Tenesol’s Toulouse facility was awarded OHSAS 18001 certification, which focuses on the management of health and safety in the working environment.
