The sale follows reports on Monday that Southern California Edison had cancelled its contract with Tessera to buy power from the r project.
In a written statement, Tessera Solar CEO Robert Lukefahr said the transaction – to which no dollar value has been attached – would secure the continued development of the Calico Solar farm.
“Calico Solar is one of the premier solar sites in the U.S. and we are extremely pleased that it will be developed and built by K Road,” Lukefahr said. “K Road is a group of highly experienced and highly successful power developers with a track record over several decades of bringing large scale projects to fruition.”
According to a release posted on Tessera Solar’s web site, key Tessera Solar personnel working on the project are transitioning to K Road to maintain project knowledge and consistency.
The company also said it will continue its efforts with securing project equity and satisfying the required compliance work on the Imperial Valley Solar Project near El Centro, California.
