Trillium designed and built the system in Santa Nella, which is the second Love’s location to run off solar power. Love’s first solar system was installed at its Las Vegas location in 2016. The new ground-mounted PV system will generate more than 300,000 kilowatt hours annually, which is an estimated 30 times the average household usage.
“On-site power generation is rapidly gaining popularity due to its low effect on the environment and ability to save customers money,” said Bill Cashmareck, managing director of Trillium. “Trillium is excited to continue leading the way in innovative solutions for the transportation industry.”
Trillium will continue to design and build on-site solar projects for additional Love’s Travel Stop locations in California and Illinois next year. In addition to solar projects, Trillium will install an EV charging station at the Santa Nella location and additional Love’s locations in the future.
