The EBRD Green Technology Selector is an online platform that lists ‘best-in-class’ green technologies that improve energy efficiency for businesses and households. The platform was launched in 2018 with the aim to promote the global transfer of high-performance green technologies and materials.
“We are delighted to see that our traceability standards and sustainability efforts have been recognised by such a prestigious institution and added to the EBRD’s Green Technology Selector” said Margarita Yao, General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs at Trina Solar. “We have conducted extensive ESG audits, including supply chains since 2014. The global solar market is growing exponentially and as a leading solar power company, we would like to be a pioneer in the end-to-end transparency and sustainability across the solar supply chain, with the primary objective of monitoring social and environmental impacts along that supply chain.”
Amid increased scrutiny around global supply chains in the renewable energy industry, Trina Solar has also been invited to play an active role in the traceability taskforce created by a leading solar energy trade body, Solar Power Europe, as it seeks to establish a new traceability standard and protocol for the solar sector.
Similarly, the firm has volunteered to take part in the Multilateral Development Bank-wide working group, coordinated by the International Finance Corporation, alongside regional solar associations to develop a new sectorial traceability standard.
