The subscription service, priced at £69 per month, is subsidised by monetisation of the solar and battery assets and includes grid balancing services, meaning that a typical four-bedroom house in the south of England could save over £500 per year with no upfront costs or cumbersome loans.
Unbound Energy has also designed its solar subscription to be flexible in that it can be easily transferred or purchased, making it more attractive to homeowners who are not planning to stay in the same property for the life of a solar system (typically 30 years or more).
The subscription service also avoids leasing the roof, which has caused issues with mortgages in the past. It also enables the customer to purchase the system at a reasonable price without having to pay for future loss of profits.
“We believe that clean, renewable energy should be accessible to everyone” said Ross Fobian, CEO of Unbound Energy. “Our solar subscription not only sets a new standard by helping homeowners save from day one, but also addresses the practical concerns that have hindered widespread adoption of solar to date.”
