The project would see the development of the Treoes Vale Solar Farm which will produce enough renewable energy to power 2,600 homes a year. The solar farm will also generate substantial environmental advantages, cutting carbon emissions by 3,800 tonnes per year.
“We are very pleased to announce the submission of the planning application for this project” said Jamie Knott, MD at Windel Energy. “Treoes Vale Solar Farm is one of the many examples of how renewable energy infrastructure can help reduce emissions through ending our reliance on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, supporting the national grid and working cohesively with local communities and the environment. “We look forward to continuing our work with the local community, council and all other stakeholders to bring this project to life and deliver a scheme that achieves real environmental and community benefits together with driving the transition to a more sustainable future.”
If approved, the Treoes Vale Solar Farm will produce 9.9 MW of renewable energy and will support the Welsh Government’s target to meet the equivalent of 100 percent of its annual electricity demand from renewable sources by 2035.
