The project consists of off-grid PV systems for 15 base stations in mountainous regions of Cyprus, replacing diesel-powered generators and generating clean energy. This in turn will save 142,500 litres of oil per year and displace 370,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions.
“We see great potential in off-grid energy solutions worldwide with Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean as especially promising regions – mainly for telecommunications and residential applications” said Stefanos Latinos, Commercial Director for Stationary Batteries, Energy Projects & Service Solutions at SUNLIGHT.
The new hybrid power systems combine renewable energy with other conventional sources integrating 31.7 kWp of Hanwha Q CELLS Q.PRO PV modules in order to power the base stations with additional OPzV solar batteries provided by SUNLIGHT.
