3. Sand Batteries
In October 2024, Italian energy experts revealed a sand battery — a novel form of storage residing in fluidized beds of silica sand. Renewable energy sources transfer power to the sand, transforming it into hot steam. Because of its less than 2% thermal losses, it is an efficient way to capture electricity.
This method could revolutionize the construction industry by providing more opportunities to connect to eco-friendly power plants. It can alleviate intermittency concerns and steer power away from coal and natural gas.
4. Smart Inverters
Most people expect construction to revolutionize in 2025 because of technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). How will this manifest? Smart inverters could be the biggest change for related workforces because they will make maintenance easier.

The chimney becomes better at harnessing power when the materials it is made from can change phases, such as from solid to liquid. 6. Renewable Natural Gas
The most critical alternative energy systems include when experts find ways to turn fossil fuels into renewable resources. Doing so makes it more justifiable to transition to clean electricity. Renewable natural gas is one of those renewable resource examples.
The goal is to capture the methane cows produce, which would otherwise add to greenhouse gas emissions. Instead, biomethane enterprises and agriculturalists are harnessing it to transform construction in food and farming sectors. It could also be used as a power source for heavy machinery and renewable vehicles.
