The project is being developed by ISDN Holdings Limited, through its PT SDM subsidiary. Other development partners include PT Bukit Lau, a local company, and the local district government.
In a press release announcing the commencement of work, the partners said it will take between 18 and 24 months to complete the facility.
The cost of the project is projected to be about $20 million, with funding being in the form of debt and equity financing.
The project is part of a government effort to dramatically reduce its reliance on fossil fuels.
