The two day conference, which starts on 22nd November, will bring representatives from politics, finance and the media together around the same table as the solar industry. It will provide an overview of recent developments in photovoltaics and solar thermal energy. 2011’s conference was the largest such event in Germany with 800 international participants.
The event will be held amid growing concern at production being migrated to low wage countries, falling module prices worldwide and cuts in solar subsidies while at the same the growing global importance of solar energy and the German energy transition remain as reasons for optimism. Experts will assess how the international solar markets are likely to develop in this environment and the opportunities for solar energy in a world without feed-in tariffs.
Those issues that are crucial to the industry such as legislation and regulatory frameworks, new markets and market trends, financing and grid integration will also be discussed. Aside from Germany, budding European and non-European markets will be examined in some detail. Discussion forums with representatives from the German parliamentary parties, CEOs of leading solar companies, representatives from market research and analysis organizations and journalists from both the trade and daily press will round off the program.
The Solarpraxis Forum has established itself as a first class meeting place offering excellent opportunities for professional discussion and is aimed at manufacturers, investors, insurance companies, power utilities and project developers. The conference is organised with the assistance of an independent advisory panel made up from the industry, consultancies and the academic community.
