Under the principal of “green power, benefits mankind”, Dongfang Electric, China's largest provider of power generating equipment and power generating stations, continues its innovation and active cooperation relationships with leading technology providers in the energy sector such as: Hitachi and Mitsubishi in Japan; ABB, Alstom and Foxboro in France; Repower in Germany, Windtec in Austria and now, with the Spanish firm Titan Tracker.
Titan Tracker has awarded the Chinese company the licence to produce its patented solar tracking systems. These systems on which flat photovoltaic, concentrating photovoltaic and concentrating solar thermal receivers can be mounted are known for their robustness. Titan Tracker has broken from the usual trend of mounted-pole systems by offering tracking structures with five support points, which “offers remarkable advantages in the complete life-cycle of the installation”.
According to the company, their tracking systems produce more energy than fixed systems; are more resistant to high winds (supporting wind of up to 125 km/h even in a vertical position); are more reliable as they do not use welding or hydraulics; and have a high capacity, being capable of supporting 219 square-metres of receiver. Titan Tracker also reports that its trackers are extremely, being able to focus receivers to within 0.01 degrees of their intended position.
