Combining innovative technologies, the partnership will support the development of pioneering solutions to support construction sector decarbonisation.

The collaboration will determine the feasibility of implementing LiNa Energy’s solid-state sodium battery technology into Garic’s Eco Product line, a range of solar-connected remote power and mobile welfare units. LiNa Energy will provide battery cells and modules to facilitate co-testing, demonstration and commercial trials to validate the solution’s future-shaping potential and commercial viability.

The deployment of LiNa Energy’s sodium-based batteries can support construction in reaching its net-zero goals, a challenging task given the industry’s multi-faceted nature. Free from harmful materials such as lithium and cobalt, the solution offers a cleaner, safer and lower cost alternative to lithium-ion batteries.

“It’s clear from working with Garic that they share LiNa’s vision and place great importance on the need to achieve net-zero” said Gene Lewis, CEO of LiNa Energy. “This partnership endorses LiNa’s business strategy and signals the potential of our pioneering low-cost, safe and sustainable sodium battery technology for industrial decarbonisation. We are really excited to formalise our relationship with Garic with the execution of this MoU.”

The partnership aligns with Garic’s commitment to creating sustainable products that support the construction industry in reaching its decarbonisation goals, as well as other targets such as plastic reduction, as part of its Compass initiative.

“Sustainability and driving new eco innovations is part of our DNA so we’re pleased to be forging this partnership with LiNa, an expert innovator in their own field” added Mark Albiston, CEO of Garic. “Their values are closely aligned to our own and with the direction our company, and the whole industry is travelling, this is a really exciting opportunity to make a big difference.”
