According to Sunrain, the competition is open to all photographers in any country, who want to capture images of solar thermal energy from their own perspective. “The challenge is to show technology through an artist’s eyes,” the company says.
The contest kicked off on 20 May 2012 and runs until 10 September 2012, with the winner to be announced on 23 September. It is free to enter the competition and prizes totalling RMB 50,000 (approximately $8,000) will be awarded, with a top prize of around $3,900.
“The idea is to show people what the possibilities of using solar thermal energy are. Starting from the black garden hose over simple collectors to highly advanced and sophisticated systems like the Sunrain Evacuated Tube Collectors,” explains. “The mission is: Photograph the Solar Thermal Energy in different ways, the people around there, the Solar Thermal (roof) landscapes and many more ... in a unique way – let your imagination fly!”
Sunrain was founded in 1999 and currently boasts a phenomenal production capacity of 8 million vacuum collector tubes and around 800,000 solar collectors and heaters per annum. It has obtained ISO 9001;2000, solar keymark, SRCC, CSA and Australian Standards Mark certification.
