The goal of the platforms being promoted by the EC is to analyze the steps (research, time, resources) in order for each industry to reach and consolidate its technological development in a faster and more precise way.
In this context, a solar thermal industry group, started from Estec 2005 conference, has launched the ESTTP Platform, in which more than a hundred European companies and institutions from some twenty countries currently take part.
“Solar thermal energy must play an important role in European and national energy policies, substituting fossil fuel in air conditioning for both heat and cold", said the platform in a press release. "ESTTP offers the best opportunity to formulate and prmote the R&D requisites of our industry, and also to spread the brillian future of thermo-solar technologies" it added.
ESTTP will be officially presented on May 30th in Brussels, with ESTIF (European Solar Thermal Industry Federation) and EUREC (European Renewable Energy Centres Agency) as hosts. Mr Andris Piebalgs, European Energy Commissioner, will be present in the act.
