As in previous years, the international trade fair Intersolar 2007 reflects the dynamically growing solar technology industry in Europe. After the tremendous growth of the last few years, this year has once again seen the leading trade fair achieve record growth. Compared with last year, the number of exhibitors is up from 454 to 560, while the exhibition space has been increased from 26,000 square metres to 31,000 square metres. At the same time, Intersolar is further consolidating its position as the leading European platform for solar technology. In 2006, the proportion of international exhibitors was 30%. This year, 37 % of exhibitors will be travelling to Freiburg from over 30 countries.
A new visitor record is also expected, with 26,000 visitors from more than 90 countries. This further underlines Intersolar’s status as the meeting place and hub of the international solar industry. 2007 will again see the majority of international visitors coming from France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.
Innovation platform for photovoltaics, solar thermal technology and solar architecture
Intersolar 2007 will focus on photovoltaics, solar thermal technology and solar architecture. Intersolar aims to bring together the leading solar industry companies, the most significant product innovations and the latest market trends in these fields. The innovation exchange will provide interested visitors with an overview of the exhibitors’ most important innovations.
Over 80% expert visitors
As in the past, the Saturday will be a public day, when the trade fair is open to all visitors. However, the high proportion of expert visitors, which was over 80% last time, clearly shows the importance of Intersolar within the industry and confirms its status as the leading trade fair for manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers and service providers in the solar industry.
Move to Munich in 2008
Since the halls in Freiburg do not have the capacity to accommodate any further growth of the trade fair, Intersolar 2008 will take place in Munich for the first time. The organisers want to use the move to the Bavarian capital to forge ahead with the internationalisation process and offer an even more attractive and extensive programme for exhibitors and visitors next year.
