The wind farm consists of 45 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 148.5 MW and is being developed by Oak Creek Energy Systems, Inc.
Abengoa has begun construction on both phases of the project. The preliminary works began in April, preparing the access roads to the wind farm and excavating the first foundations for the turbines.
The wind farm will produce sufficient electricity to supply approximately 71,000 households every year and will be connected to the Federal Electricity Commission’s network under the self-supply scheme.
The project will help the local community to develop by creating direct and indirect jobs and thanks to the launch of various social programs during the execution phase, the company said.
