CISWIND, the international conference and exhibition for wind power in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eastern Europe, will take place in Kiev during the 28th to 29th March 2013 to be held at the Congress Complex “Olimpiyskiy” in the city. The conference is being organized by IBCentre and the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association in partnership with the Association of Alternative Fuel and Energy Market Participants of Ukraine (APEU) and supported by the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and by various specialized and public organizations.
The event is the largest international wind industry event in the CIS and Eastern Europe and will bring together market leaders, heads of industry agencies, developers and equipment manufacturers, financiers and investors, top international wind experts and professional associations. The aim of the conference is to give renewed impetus to the wind industry in the CIS and it will feature key topics such as analysis of the global and European markets, policies and legal frameworks for further wind development, investment attractiveness and peculiarities of financing WPP in the CIS and Eastern Europe, technical aspects of grid connection , ‘green’ tariff regulations and state support and risk management in wind energy projects.
“CISWIND comes exactly at the right time and WWEA is pleased to be a partner of this important event” said Stefan Gsaenger, Secretary General of WWEA. “Many of the CIS countries are still in an early stage, but they are now seriously interested in wind power utilization, as we have been able to find out in our CIS Report. We expect dynamic new wind markets in the future. Ukraine, as the by far largest wind power market amongst the CIS countries, is without doubt the ideal location for this event. CISWIND will create an additional momentum for wind power in the CIS region, by becoming the leading meeting point for decision makers from industry and government.”
The Executive Director of IB Centre, Juliya Berezovski, commented that each year the dynamic global wind energy market becomes more and more complicated and that the developed markets of the EU reduce the support of the industry. The markets are becoming saturated and so a natural solution is to look to the east. There is a huge ‘undeveloped’ territory within the former Soviet Union countries where the ‘grain’ of renewable energy is just beginning to sprout promising more stability than the saturated markets of the EU.
The conference will include news presentations and initiatives in the renewable energy sphere from leading experts and officials in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Lithuania and Poland. Leading companies attending the conference will include 3TIER, Vestas, GeoNet, Mecal, ATS, Siemens, Deutsche WindGuard, Commerzbank, Fuhrländer, BEITEN BURKHARDT, Bl International Enterprises, Meteodyn, Blue Planet Wind, EGERES, ENERPARK, AWS TRUEPOWER, LM Wind Power, Wind Parks of Ukraine ant others.
