Do you want clean energy? …Then just breathe

A Brazilian designer has developed a mask that converts a user’s breath into electricity for recharging small electronic devices. According to its inventor, Joao Lammoglia, “there are small wind turbines that make the energy conversion; then the energy is transferred through a cable to the device”.
Do you want clean energy? …Then just breathe

AIRE, as it was named by its inventor, “can be used while you are asleep, walk, run, read a book, among other possibilities. It provides energy 24 hours a day, 7 days per week”, explains Lammoglia.
The Brazilian designer believes that “the use of natural resources is probably the most important step we can do” to reverse the situation of increasing energy demand from the use of gadgets. Besides saving energy (and contributing to environmental preservation), AIRE also encourages the practice of physical exercise.
In November, AIRE was awarded the Red Dot Design Award, one of the most important in the world.
