The new wind farm, in the province of Avila, will produce 42.7 million kilowatt hours of power a year, enough to meet the energy needs of about 15,800 households, and will cut CO2 emissions by 31,600 tonnes a year, Italy's biggest renewable energy company said in a statement.
The plant will add to 1,690 MW of EGP's total installed wind power generation capacity in the Iberian peninsula.
“With this new wind farm, we reinforce Enel Green Power’s commitment to the development of the Spanish renewable sector,” said Enel Green Power CEO Francesco Starace. “Our aim for the Iberian peninsula is to start operating all our pre-registered projects within the established time schedule and capacity framework.”
In Iberia, Enel Green Power operates through Enel Green Power España (EGPE), ownership of which is split between Enel Green Power (60 percent) and Endesa (40 percent).
