ENGIE remains the reference shareholder at 31 percent and the leading industrial player in the two projects of 496 MW each, in partnership with EDPR (29.5 percent) and La Banque des Territoires (Caisse des Dépôts Group, 10 percent).
Sumitomo Corporation is one of Japan's leading industrial groups and is heavily involved in wind energy projects in Japan, Europe, the United States, South Africa and China. It is also a leading industrial player in major European offshore wind projects with an installed capacity of 1.5 GW 1 in Belgium and the United Kingdom.
Sumitomo Corporation is also a long-time partner of ENGIE, a co-investor in desalination and geothermal projects in the Middle East and Indonesia.
The socio-industrial commitments made under the two projects are thus reinforced. Welcoming a new partner today makes it possible to establish even more the realisation of a French marine energy sector.
