EWEA and HMC will host two more events in 2018 and 2020, in addition to the collaboration on WindEnergy Hamburg 2016,that will take place in September. EWEA will continue to host its annual and offshore events in the intervening years 2017 and 2019. The agreement also includes an option to cooperate on a fourth event in 2022.
The aim of the agreement is to create a ‘one-stop shop’ for businesses, policymakers and the scientific community, consisting of an exhibition and conference that will showcase the very best of the wind industry, highlighting the successes and addressing the challenges facing wind power today.
“We are confident that this will provide certainty and long-term visibility to our sector on the location for future events” said Giles Dickson, Chief Executive Officer of EWEA. “It will also ensure that Hamburg remains a capital for the global wind industry in the years to come.”
Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH, added that the concentration/convergence of expertise in Europe is unmatched anywhere in the world for the companies engaged internationally in the wind industry. It is highly attractive for both exhibitors and visitors, enabling them to attend the only global wind energy expo, with its business opportunities, plus the Conference with its coverage of the latest industry topics.
EWEA is the voice of the European wind industry, actively promoting wind power in Europe and worldwide. It has 600 members in over 50 countries, including wind turbine manufacturers with a leading share of the world wind power market, plus component suppliers, research institutes, national wind and renewables associations, developers, contractors, electricity providers, finance and insurance companies, and consultants.
WindEnergy Hamburg will be held at the Hamburg Fair site from 27th to 30th September 2016. It is a leading international expo for onshore and offshore wind, reflecting the global market and the whole of the value chain.
