Poland has emerged as a key market in Exus’ European expansion strategy, with the acquisitions significantly strengthening its renewable energy presence across Europe.

In July 2024, Exus acquired the 1,056MW wind portfolio from Energetyka Polska. The projects are currently under development and located in three strategic areas in south and southwest Poland, and will be developed in collaboration with Energetyka Polska – a company with over 20 years of experience in developing wind farms in Central and Eastern Europe.

Exus has also recently completed the acquisition of a 53MW wind portfolio in the country. The 30MW and 23MW wind farms are located in west-central Poland. Both projects, under construction and scheduled to go live by Q3 2025, will feature an additional 65MW of PV capacity through cable pooling, which is also under development.

PwC Poland acted as advisor in both transactions.

To support these projects and further its expansion, Exus has established a Polish subsidiary and a strong local team with extensive industry experience, which will play a crucial role in advancing its renewable energy projects in the country.

“We’re extremely excited to announce our expansion into Poland with these wind portfolio acquisitions. This is a significant milestone and a key part of our European expansion and independent power producer strategy,” said Aygen Yayikoglu, Managing Partner at Exus Renewables. “These wind farms and associated hybrid solar projects will enable us to continue delivering additional clean and sustainable energy to millions of households across Europe.”

Exus plans to continue expanding its presence and renewable energy portfolio in Europe over the coming years through additional strategic acquisitions and greenfield development of important wind, solar, BESS and co-located renewable energy projects.
