This agreement, the first entered into by Gamesa with this wind energy developer, was reached after Turbo Power Baja Energy was awarded the first phase of an international tender organised by the Baja California State Government. It strengthens Gamesa's leadership position in the Mexican market, where the company has installed 186 MW since it started up its activities. This figure accounts for most of the installed wind power output in the country.
From an environmental viewpoint, the Gamesa wind turbines will replace 2,150 tonnes of petroleum equivalent (TPE) per year and avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 15,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum.
Assembly work is expected to commence during the latter half of this year.
