So far in 2014 the company has signed orders for the supply of close to 500 MW in India. This makes the country Gamesa’s number 2 market, second only to Brazil. Under the terms of this new agreement, Gamesa will supply 86 units of its G97-2.0 MW wind turbine. These are to be deployed at five wind farms located in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
The turbines will be manufactured locally at Gamesa’s Indian factories and are scheduled for delivery over the course of 2015. The agreements also include the provision of the related operation and maintenance services under medium and long-term arrangements.
Gamesa has installed over 1,440 MW and manages more than 1,150 MW under O&M agreements. In the first half of 2014, India accounted for 30 percent of Gamesa's consolidated revenue.
