The company will deliver and install 25 G87 2.0MW wind turbines for Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy (GME) in its Orosí wind project which is scheduled for completion by 2015.
The project is to be financed by multilateral funding from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (US Ex-Im Bank), the Dutch Development Bank (FMO) and the International Bank of Costa Rica (BICSA).
Gamesa will also manage operations and management services for 5 years and develop all necessary infrastructure including an electricity substation, a high-tension line and the site's connection to the power grid. The company has so far installed 12.75MW in Costa Rica in the form of the Los Santos wind farm. It has also been engaged in developing the 116MW Cerro de Hula project, the largest wind farm in Central America, and the 44MW Eolo wind farm in Nicaragua.
