With the previous agreement signed in 2017 for Kızılcaterzi Wind Project, Fina Enerji is expected to add up to 425 MW to their installed base by 2020. The signing of this agreement supports Turkey's national goal of reaching a capacity of 20 GW in wind power and generating 30 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2023.
GE will supply its GE's 3.8-130 wind turbines and related services and long-term services for the projects according to the agreement. The wind farms are intended to start commercial operations in 2019 /2020, and will be located across different regions of Turkey.
Murat Özyeğin, Fina Enerji's Chairman of the Board, said, "We are proud to sign this agreement, which we believe will make a major contribution to the achievement of our country's renewable energy goals."
GE's 3.8-130 wind turbine features a 130-meter rotor and offers the latest enhancements in load management controls, low acoustic emissions, efficient electrical power conversion and robust performance. The turbines have to meet local content requirements, supporting employment and localization efforts in the country.
In April 2017, GE and Fina Enerji signed a comprehensive 10-year Full-Service Agreement complemented by a two-year trial of GE's Predix-powered Digital Wind Farm solutions for Fina Enerji's existing wind farms.
