Under the authorization, the Madrid, Spain based company will have a power sales agreement for 20 years. The facilities are expected to begin producing power by January 2016.
“With this new awarded contract we consolidate our presence in Brazil, which in 2012 will represent the third part of Gestamp Wind’s business,” said Dionisio Fernández Auray, Gestamp Wind’s CEO.
Gestamp Wind specializes in the development, construction and operation of wind projects in Europe, Brazil, USA, Turkey and South Africa, and will have more than 500 MW in operation in 2012.
Auray said the new projects further illustrate the company’s commitment to wind development in overseas markets.
