The Spanish company installed the 36 MW Scott plant outside the town of Nagyigmad, the 26 MW Amundsen and 8 MW Csoma II plants both in Ikervar, western Hungary, according to a statement from the company.
The new facilities, which are equipped with Gamesa G90 turbines, join the company’s 50 MW facility att Kisigmand and its 38 MW Csoma I park.
With the start up of the new facilities, Iberdrola Renovables has now five wind farms in operation in Hungary, with a total capacity of 158MW, and the company is now developing another 100 MW of capacity in the country.
Iberdrola, the world’s largest wind power company, now produces 158 megawatts of landlocked Hungary’s 330 megawatts of installed wind power. It is developing another 100 megawatts of capacity in Hungary, which aims to obtain 14.65 percent of its energy consumption from low carbon-emitting sources by 2020.
