The new blade manufacturing facility is part of the company’s state of the art integrated manufacturing unit at Barwani and will have an annual production capacity of 400 rotor blade sets and an eventual annual manufacturing capacity of 400 nacelles and hubs and 300 towers. This in turn will double the company’s production capacity to 1,600 MW, making the facility one of the largest in Asia and the largest facility in India. It will also drive investment and economic growth in Madhya Pradesh, providing direct and indirect employment to 5,000 people in the state.
The unit will enhance production of the company’s 100 meter diameter rotor and enable manufacturing of its 113 meter diameter rotor. The facility will also aid in efficient transportation of equipment to several wind rich sites in the country.
