Located in Großenwiehe, North Germany, the installation of the two turbines – both Enercon E-115 EP3 models – is the second successful Enercon installation for the North East business and sees the company successfully operating two dedicated Enercon installation teams in both the UK and Germany.
“This installation forms part of a multi agreement programme with Enercon that will see us installing wind turbines, not only across the UK and Germany, but also across many other parts of Europe” said GO Wind MD and Founder, Paya Kolahi. “We are very proud of the partnership we have with Enercon – and the many other major industry players we are installing on behalf of – and are very excited to roll out the extensive programme of installations for this leading wind energy company.”
The next phase of the Enercon programme will see Go Wind kick start work in Ireland on an ambitious schedule focusing on the installation of seven wind turbines across Larne.
The announcement of the expansion into Europe comes quickly on the back of, last month, GO Wind announcing it had completed the first installation of its kind in the UK with the successful install of two Enercon E-138 EP3 wind turbine models in North Lanarkshire.
Go Wind provides a range of services to the offshore and onshore wind sector including installation, maintenance and component replacement.
The business works with a number of global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and – as part of its extensive work programme – is expecting to see a twofold growth in the coming month as it recruits and expands installation and operations teams to meet new contract wins and deliver already contracted wind turbine installations at scale.
