Many factors, including the rise in competition from low cost competitors in other countries, are continuing to force prices down, which, for many suppliers, is having a major impact on the quality of products produced across the industry as a whole. The new facility at BGB will allow businesses to complete the full manufacturing process and testing on-site, ensuring all products meet the required industry gold standards for operation, without the need for additional examination offsite – reducing lead times where possible for customers.
BGB’s range of products, including its power generated systems and pitch control slip rings, will be subjected to the new form of testing, allowing customizable components for clients to be examined closely before being transported off site.
The new facility is able to recreate all types of environmental conditions including high temperatures and humidity control, all while under rotation as with a wind turbine.
Nick Hubbard, managing director at BGB, said, “We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality of products to our partners. Having the means to complete the most sophisticated forms of testing on-site will allow us to manufacture goods that continue to lead on performance, while minimizing downtime and maintenance – a major concern for offshore farms.”
With a growing demand for its services, BGB has also announced plans to continue to diversify its product portfolio in the coming months and is already investigating potential options when it comes to assisting staff with new technologies such as production automation.
