A total of 206 participants from 19 countries will be exhibiting their products and services during the exhibition in Zaragoza’s 17,000 square-metre conference centre, which runs from 22-24 September. The first H2 Power Expo, dedicated to hydrogen and fuel cells, will also be held in parallel to this event.
Today’s agenda includes technical conferences on generators, control and electrical elements; re-powering; new trends in R&D, cost cutting and improving wind farm availability; technology in the future development of wind power; and technological developments in structures. These technical conferences are being organised for the third consecutive year by the Asociación Empresarial Eólica (the Spanish Wind Energy Association).
In this edition of WindPower Expo, the conferences on wind farm operation and maintenance are most noteworthy, as they deal with one of the most pressing issues faced by the industry at present. Iñigo Vázquez, from SSB, will chair these sessions tackling the impact of maintenance costs on the profitability of wind parks; the correlation between the operator, the technologist and the maintenance service provider; and the data acquisition systems for the diagnosis and maintenance work on wind farms.
Today’s commercial presentations will include Zephyr’s revolutionary small wind turbine “Airdolphin”, a presentation by Amroy on new materials for blade manufacturing, and a talk on lubrication systems for wind turbines presented by the Lincoln – Rivi Technical Group.
