A total of eight Senvion 3.0 M122 wind turbines, designed for high-yield power generation on low-wind sites, have been operating since May 2015 at the Hollich community wind farm in Burgsteinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Overall, the company has so far installed turbines with a total rated power of over 12,000 MW worldwide, representing over 7 million househlds.

Senvion employs more than 3,500 people worldwide, across 14 countries. In 2014, the company installed 265 wind turbines with a rated power of almost 1,000 megawatts. Its most important market is Germany and it covers both the onshore and offshore wind sectors. The company was established in 2001 as REpower Systems AG as a result of the merger of Jacobs Energie, BWU and pro+pro Energiesysteme.
