The total potential capacity of the project, the location and nature of which is as yet unknown, could be 96MW. The order is part of the framework agreement signed between Vestas and EDF EN in June 2011 and includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines with a service agreement to be agreed at a later date.
“We are pleased to be working with Vestas on such a landmark project in France, especially for its size and strategic importance “ said Antoine Cahuzac, CEO of EDF Energies Nouvelles. “We know that with Vestas, we always have available a competent team devoted to answering our needs and supporting our business development initiatives.”
Juan Araluce, Chief Sales Officer at Vestas Wind Systems A/S, added that the order further strengthens the company’s market position in France. As of the end of March 2014 the company has delivered a total of more than 1,800MW to the French market and has sales offices in Paris and Montpellier with a network of eight service centres throughout the country. Vestas France employs more than 250 people.
