Wind Cube is a modular system that can be installed on any exterior facade of a house, enabling home owners to install as many turbines as they need. Installation is simple and the units can be interconnected to form a mosaic in the form of honeycomb. Equipped with telescopic blades, each unit has an output of 100 watts, capable of delivering 26.1 kWh per month. According to its inventor, 15 Wind Cubes are sufficient to provide all the electricity consumed by a family of four per month.
In combination with other sources of renewable energy, such as solar energy, this system can provide energy to isolated, off-grid dwellings, and significantly reduce electricity bills, depending on the number of turbines installed.
The Wind Cubes are able to work even at very low air speeds. If wind speeds rise to excessive levels, the blades automatically retract into the turbine’s housing to protect them.
